Popular DC Films Action Figure Line Expands in 2017 with New Suicide Squad and

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Characters

Burbank, CA – July 21, 2016 – DC Collectibles, the exclusive line of toys and collector items from DC Entertainment, unveiled today at Comic-Con International: San Diego an exciting new 2017 slate including a stunning 6.75’’ DC Bombshells action figure line, an expansion of the company’s bestselling DC Bombshells universe. Also in 2017, characters from Warner Bros. Animation’s acclaimed 1990’s Superman: The Animated Series TV show will be brought to life for the first time as 6’’ action figures. DC Collectibles will also add new characters to many of its widely popular action figure and statue lines including new figures based on DC’s hit TV series and the highly anticipated DC Films action figure line.

In addition to new reveals, DC Collectibles will also celebrate Wonder Woman’s 75th anniversary at the convention with a commemorative display of upcoming figures, statues and other collectibles featuring the Amazon Princess in the DC booth.

Based on the acclaimed Bombshells statue line that launched a franchise, DC Collectibles will once again re-imagine DC’s most iconic Super Heroes and Super-Villains as 1940’s pin-up style character designs, but this time, as articulated action figures. The first characters being transformed from their statue designs into poseable figures include Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Batwoman and Harley Quinn. Set to hit stores in 2017, each figure is designed by DC Bombshells veteran Ant Lucia, will have up to 20 points of articulation and feature their own unique accessories.

“Fans have been asking for Bombshells action figures for quite a while, and we’re thrilled to introduce this new line in 2017” said Kevin Kiniry, vice president of DC Collectibles at DC Entertainment. “What started as a mere statue line has exploded into a pop culture phenomenon and it’s really exciting to see our Bombshells character designs transcend into comics, clothing and other merchandise.  We’re offering fans another reason to love Bombshells with these new action figures that will allow for more fun and interactive experiences.”

In addition to new action figures in 2017, DC Collectibles will continue to add new characters to its ongoing DC Bombshells statue line, including its first male standalone statue, Aquaman. The company is also set to debut its first line of DC Bombshells busts in winter 2016.

Following the success of the company’s Batman: The Animated Series line, DC Collectibles will debut its first-ever 6’’ action figures based on the hit 1990’s Superman: The Animated Series TV show. Animated characters Superman and Lois Lane will be the first figures to debut in 2017 and will be offered as a standalone two-pack. For a sneak peek at the new Superman: Animated Series line, fans can pick up the Batman: The Animated Series Girls Night Out Action Figure 5-pack in December 2016 that features Supergirl alongside several female characters from Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures.

DC Collectibles will also add new characters to its highly anticipated DC Films premium action figure line in 2017, including characters from Warner Bros. upcoming high-octane actioner Suicide Squad hitting theaters August 5, 2016. Designed with toy collectors in mind, the highly detailed and articulated new figures include Boomerang, Killer Croc and Katana, all based on their character appearances in Suicide Squad. DC Collectibles will also debut new characters from 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film including Knightmare Batman, Batman and Aquaman. Each will feature up to 30 points of articulation and will come with unique accessories.

Other new products scheduled for 2017 include additions to the Batman: The Animated Series and DCTV action figure lines and new DC Icons action figures. DC Collectibles will also debut a new Harley Quinn Red White & Black statue by acclaimed comic book artist Jim Lee and a new Batman Black & White statue by acclaimed pop culture artist Kim Jung Gi.
