Candy wrappers on the grass, the quiet that was once filled with laughter and joy. Blood on the staircase and spiders in the air. Jason was taking down his decorations from Halloween. His house was always the kids’ favorite, he always went all out. This year, he replicated a body farm on his lawn. Fake corpses all laid out on the grass, with a morbid scientist prowling the grounds escorting the kids to a fresh skull filled with candy.

Look at that! A pretty new comic for me to read. I sure hope it’s good. I bet it will be, I have impeccable taste.

Wes Craig (W) Toby Cypress (A)

Holy shit I am so pumped about this series. If I know one thing about comics, it’s that if a comic has a phenomenal title design, it’ll probably be excellent. I also know that these creators are great, so there is that too.

Justice League #32 (DC)

Robert Venditti (W) Liam Sharp (A)

This whole Metal thing that the kids are all talking about really has me snapping my fingers. It’s a catchy tune, ya dig?

Avengers #673 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Jesus Saiz (A)

Kinda confused about the trajectory of this crossover. I felt like I was completely disconnected for the first issue, the second started to tie things in a little better, but I’m just confused. Some one help me.

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #6 (Marvel)

Chip Zdarsky (W) Michael Walsh (A)

I am actually really excited about this issue. I would think they could do a “bottle episode” type issue for this one. Hopefully I’m right. That makes me the most happy, when I’m right.

Iron Fist #74 (Marvel)

Ed Brisson (W) Mike Perkins (A)

TWO BEST BUDS EMBARK ON AN EXCITING ADVENTURE TO SHOW THOSE BADDIES WHAT FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL. There may be a little blood.

Black Bolt #7 (Marvel)

Saladin Ahmed (W) Frazer Irving (A)

Wasn’t expecting this comic to be a fun ride on the feels train. I didn’t sign up for this. Give me back my emotions you succubus.

Old Man Logan #30 (Marvel)

Ed Brisson (W) Mike Deodato (A)

The last issue of the Hulk saga. Really happy with how this comic transitioned to a new team. I love Brisson’s style. Hope he stays on this book for a long time to come.

Batman: The Devastator #1 (DC)

Frank Tieri (W) Tony S. Daniel (A)

Guys, guys, what if, stay with me here, what if Superman were Batman?!?!?! WOULDN’T THAT JUST BE FUCKING NUTS?

Captain America #695 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Chris Samnee (A)

I love seeing this team on things. I have loved everything they’ve done so far and I am really fucking ready to love this comic too. Pick it up if you love your mother. She would be proud of you.

Green Arrow #34 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Jamal Campbell (A)

That last issue gave me so many of the things I had been waiting for. Thank you Gods of Green Arrow. Seriously though, this series does not disappoint. Pick it up.

Astonishing X-Men #5 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Ramon Rosanas (A)

This comic is a little bit of a mind fuck. I really love that. It feels fresh, important, stoic, but doesn’t take itself too seriously. I like it because it reminds me of myself. It’s also humble, humble like me.

Batman: White Knight #2 (of 8) (DC)

Sean Murphy (W/A)

This series is fucking amazing. Unmake the mistake you made by not reading this book. Go to your corner of shame.

Batman #34 (DC)

Tom King (W) Joelle Jones (A)

Batman gonna fight his women for his women and you can’t tell him otherwise. So there, deal with that all the women he’s slept with.

Scrubbing the blood off of his fingers, he was already planning the next year. Probably something to do with aliens, there was some buzz that they would be the next big trend. He picked up a piece of candy that remained in his bowl and popped it in his mouth.

“You know, we’re hiring” A voice black as night spoke behind him.

Jason nearly choked on his candy. He spun around so fast that his eyesight went out of focus for a moment. When it returned to him, he saw a tall hooded man, no, a skeleton, standing behind him.

“The benefits are pretty good too.” It seemed to smile at him, somehow.
