The darkness had been getting louder. Jerry contemplated this over his morning coffee and a nice cheese danish that had been on sale at his local grocery store. The danish left something to be desired, but honestly what do you expect from a bakery wedged between a produce section and a busy deli. As he chewed the slightly stale pastry, he heard another noise, almost like he had called it into existence with his idle day dreaming.

Titans #7 (DC)

Dan Abnett (W) Lee Weeks (A)

As much as I love this comic, I find myself asking “Why do I care?”. I feel like this comic doesn’t justify it’s characters enough. Sure, they are long standing fan favorites, but it seems Wally has taken over, throwing everyone else into the back seat. It’s a little upsetting. Hopefully after the first arc we get a little more development.

Detective Comics #948 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Ben Oliver (A)

I am already excited for the Batwoman comic coming out in a couple months, this just serves as a nice little appetizer to the main course. Part of me likes Batman being a part of this group (Which I believe I’ve mentioned before) but part of me just kinda wants Batwoman to take over for him.

The Mighty Thor #15 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Russell Dauterman (A)

You know, I get that Malekith is a real big baddy. I do, I mean they basically completely washed over his character in Dark World and I was pissed, that being said, holy fuck this guy gets a lot of attention from Aaron. I mean he’s been the big bad for the entirety of the Jane Foster saga, and he was the big bad for a majority of the series before that. Someone just lock him away, or “kill” him. Some of the most interesting stuff Aaron has done was with new characters, and new villians.

Ms. Marvel #14 (Marvel)

G. Willow Wilson (W) Takeshi Miyagawa (A)

The age old superhero dilemma. How to be a teenager and actually keep your secret identity fucking secret. I can only imagine it’s even harder now with the internet.

Inhumans Vs X-Men #2 (of 6) (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire/Charles Soule (W) Leinil Francis Yu (A)

I feel like some serious stuff is about to go down in this issue. So far, Inhumans have played close to the vest, you know, not siccing their whole city’s worth of people on the X-men. That’s saying a lot, the Inhuman empire is built of pride. Seriously, why are the X-men poking the bear?

Daredevil #15 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Goran Sudzuka (A)

Well, I mean, it was really only a matter of time before Matt got a hit put out on him. I wonder who could possibly be sent to take him down? It’s not like he hangs around any nefarious women, or battles men with perfect aim ever. Sheesh the dude basically lives like a nun. Male nun. Priest? Nah, Mun.

Outcast #24 (Image)

Robert Kirkman (W) Paul Azaceta (A)

Hey, they stakes may be raised! Huzzah!

Moonshine #4 (Image)

Brian Azzarello (W) Eduardo Risso (A)

This comic sucked me in so hard. I am so ready for the next issue. If you missed out on this series, do yourself a favor and pick it up in trade when it comes out.

Spider-Man/Deadpool #13 (Marvel)

Joe Kelly (W) Ed McGuinness (A)

The dynamic duo are back, and I don’t mean the titular characters! We get more action with Itsy Bitsy, the horribly named badguy chick. It’s cool though, they reference how bad the name is. Meta right?

All-Star Batman #6 (DC)

Scott Snyder (W) Jock (A)

So fucking excited about this arc. I love Jock’s work, and obviously I’m a bit of a fan of Snyder too. This is their second time working on Batman since Wytches went on hiatus(?)/ended(?) I don’t know what the fuck happened to that comic.

Wonder Woman #14 (DC)

Greg Rucka (W) Nicola Scott (A)

We get a conclusion to the new origin re-telling. In light of the information from the other arc, what will become of Diana?

Jessica Jones #4 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Michael Gaydos (A)

Some weird ass shit is going on in Jessica’s life. From the looks of it, she has dug herself a pretty big hole, I really want to know why though. Damn you literary suspense!

Southern Bastards #16 (Image)

Jason Aaron (W) Jason Latour (A)

Ready to get your heart punched in the dick? I am. I’ve been ready for months. I even bought a little basket to put my bloody organs when they get ripped out.

Jerry washed his bite down with a swig of luke warm coffee, and chased the half chewed chunks from his gums and teeth. He rolled up the news paper next to his cup slowly, as to not give away his intentions. Before the shadow knew what was happening, Jerry was on top of it, pummeling the shapeless void within an inch of it’s non-life. Various squeaks and groans emanated from the lack of something, before the dark spot vanished. Jerry dusted the darkness off his hands and sat back down at his comfortable breakfast nook.
