The door creaked open, unleashing a cloud of dust into the room. The motes swirled in the shafts of light breaking through the grimy windows of the warehouse. For a moment Yousef thought of a painting he once saw in a school book. Immediately the nostalgic image was washed from his mind. Replaced with the urgency he had entered with.

A.D. After Death #1 of 3 (Image)

Scott Snyder (W) Jeff Lemire (A)

This one is really just a shout out. Look at that team. I won’t be picking up the issue for a specific reason. This was originally supposed to be released as a graphic novel, but they split it into three large parts for the print market, which is fine with me, but I’ll just hold off until it’s collected.

Cage! #2 of 4 (Marvel)

Genndy Tartakovsky (W) Genndy Tartakovsky (A)

I wasn’t particularly taken with the first issue of this series. It wasn’t terrible, but maybe not great enough to keep going. I’m gonna call it with issue two, so it better be tops to stay.

Empress #7 of 7 (Marvel)

Mark Millar (W) Stuart Immonen (A)

I was not very EMPRESS-ED with this series. See what I did there? I shared my pain with sarcasm, weird right? That’s never happened before.

Teen Titans #2 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Jonboy Meyers (A)

This series is good. I dug the first issue, but I don’t know if I care about all the characters enough to keep on reading this comic. I’m sure these guys will find a way to pull me in and keep reading, but it’s time to air out the unnecessary comics again, and well, this one may hit the wind.

Titans #5 (DC)

Dan Abnett (W) Brett Booth (A)

The last of the “may not make it” list. I really dig this comic, I do, but I need to cut back on series, and, well, The other DC titles are better. I think I may stick with them instead. Who knows?

Detective Comics #945 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Eddy Barrows (A)

Aw shit, there may be a spoiler on the team. HAHA! I’m so great. Seriously, I love the words I think of. Seriously though, after her boyfriend dying and her idol kinda being a dick about the whole thing, it looks like the band may be breaking up.

The Mighty Thor #13 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Steve Epting (A)

Nothing like a nice two parter. Especially with a guest as gracious as Epting. It seems with one team breaking up (See above) another may be forming. Time to check out the mighty pains in the asses known only as the League of Realms. I sense some Angela punching on the horizon.

Civil War II #7 of 8 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) David Marquez (A)

I am more intrigued in the ending this story has in mind for Tony Stark than anything else. Being that it was leaked all through the current slate of Marvel comics that something happened to him that makes him unable to continue on as Iron Man. Come on Marvel, if you have a big reveal, it would be nice if you could, you know, actually reveal it.

Wonder Woman #11 (DC)

Greg Rucka (W) Liam Sharp (A)

The first conclusion of the concurrent mult-arcs! I am really excited about where this comic is going. Based on some of the solicitations, we are in for a phenomenal run on this series. If you missed it, get in while the getting’s good!

Outcast #23 (Image)

Robert Kirkman (W) Paul Azaceta (A)

Remember what I said about shit getting real in this comic? Well, I was right. It looks like the shit is going to get even realer on this next issue. Maybe we’ll get some of the answers we’ve been looking for, maybe.

Death of X #4 of 4 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire/Charles Soule (W) Aaron Kuder (A)

This series has kicked ass completely. I am so ready for the IvX series. If it is half as good as this series was, it is totally worth your money.

The Black Monday Murders #4 (Image)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Tomm Coker (A)

This series is intense with dark magic, devil worship, and financial institution conspiracy. Right down my alley. If you also think this sounds nice, I have a cult to introduce you to. We sacrifice every Tuesday.

In the center of the empty warehouse was a throne, limned with the golden light of dusk. The air was stale as Yousef approached the monolithic idol. Eyes glimmered from the silhouetted man in the chair. He was weaving something between his fingers, skillfully twirling and flipping it like a toy. Besides this, the man was absolutely still. Almost as if he were frozen in place. In his peripheral vision, Yousef could see shadows becoming men all around him as he came closer. He was unmoved, his purpose was true. Suddenly the statue of a man smiled, all at once the item in his hand stopped moving and everything Yousef could see began spinning in the opposite direction. Colors became blurs, but the smile stayed fixed as the warehouse melted away.
