When Cameron knew she was alone, she would yell into the silence. Her voice never made an impact on the vast nothingness out here. There was something comforting about that, but a small part of her always felt empty afterwards. She suspected it was her ego. Who could ever change the nature of the universe? She planned to find out.

Doctor Strange #22 (Marvel)

Dennis Hopeless (W) Niko Henrichon (A)

I really loved the last team on this book, and I really hope that this team can carry this book somewhere fresh and interesting. I’m worried though, and it really doesn’t help that this arc is a tie-in to an event that I’m not reading.

Luke Cage #2 (Marvel)

David Walker (W) Nelson Blake (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046678?type=1

I’ll tell you the truth. I can’t remember what happened in the first issue. That’s not a great sign, but then again I read way too many of these things, so maybe this next issue will stick with me a little more.

Green Arrow #25 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Otto Schmidt (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046281?type=1

Breaking news: God damn hippy, Oliver Queen, is escorted to jail in handcuffs today after revealing he is the notorious Green Arrow. What next? Some reporter reveals he’s Superman? A billionaire reveals he’s a twisted psychopath that dressed like a flying mammal? The world is too crazy now a days, and it’s all because of the millennials.

Black Hammer #10 (Dark Horse)

Jeff Lemire (W) Dean Ormston (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046959?type=1

Looks like the boat is shaking in the little town of Rockwood. Something wicked this way comes.

Invincible Iron Man #8 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Stefano Caselli (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046674?type=1

This comic has heart. I was fortunate enough to have a very good conversation about this book with a long-time Iron Man fan this week. The consensus was roughly “Let her be Ironheart.” I can get behind that.

The Mighty Thor #20 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Russell Dauterman (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046682?type=1

Yet another Thor? Who wields the strange hammer from another dimension? I’m not sure but if this reveal takes as long as Jane Foster’s, I’m gonna be a little frustrated.

Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-man #1 (Marvel)

Chip Zdarsky (W) Adam Kubert (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL047341?type=1

I am super excited about this series. My favorite Spider-man is a funny Spider-man. J. Michael Staczynski had one of my favorite runs on the webhead, I can only imagine a team like this will be making gold.

Daredevil #22 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Goran Sudzuka (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL047413?type=1

Man, this whole run has been fucking solid. I am so excited to have the red suit back on top of everything else. I mean, I know it’s petty, but I like it man. What can I say?

Shirtless Bear-Fighter #1 (of 5) (Image)

Jody Leheup/Sebastian Girner (W) Nil Vendrell (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046942?type=1

I had the pleasure of meeting the guys who write this and picking up a copy a little early. Let me say, this comic is fucking awesome. It’s hilarious and if you don’t believe me, pick it up. Then fight me in old school fisticuffs, because anything else is bullshit.

God Country #6 (Image)

Donny Cates (W) Geoff Shaw (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL047120?type=1

Really sad to see this ending, but really happy to say that there are some new rockstars on the block. Look out for both of these guys in the future. They’ll be having one hell of a ride the next few years.

All Star Batman #11 (DC)

Scott Snyder (W) Rafael Albuquerque (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046225?type=1

Scott promises a lot of Alfred action in this next story. A lot of his time in the military and his time as a hoodlem. This is something that I never knew I needed in my life, but now that it’s here, I know it’s exactly what I was missing.

Wild Storm #5 (DC)

Warren Ellis (W) Jon Davis-Hunt (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046353?type=1

This story kicks ass. Seriously, get on this train if you aren’t already. Master craft team at work here. You’re missing something important if you don’t read it.

The Old Guard #5 (Image)

Greg Rucka (W) Leandro Fernandez (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL047136?type=1

The last issue of the first arc and they’re already saying it’s the last issue of 2017. That makes me very sad. Creators are selfish lovers.

Batman #25 (DC)

Tom King (W) Mikel Janin (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL046753?type=1

I’ve been waiting for a few months for this arc to start. It has all the makings of a classic. Batman admits to the story of his greatest failure and it involves two of his most dangerous villians. I am so on board it isn’t funny.

Royal City #4 (Image)

Jeff Lemire (W) Jeff Lemire (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL047149?type=1

If you like it when your heart hurts, you will love this comic. The melancholic musings of a mad Canadian. This is one of the year’s best already.

The Black Monday Murders #6 (Image)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Tomm Coker (A)

https://www.previewsworld.com/SiteImage/CatalogImage/STL044328?type=1

If you like getting surrounded by mysterious creatures fueled by wealth and corruption, well, welcome to America, but also check out this comic. It’s dense, but in the “I wish this wouldn’t end” sort of way.

In orbit Cameron discovered that the fundamental physics of the universe could be manipulated with the right tools. She had built her shuttle herself. Well, not physically, but he had devised the plans that were used to create it. She planned everything, including the additions of some strange equipment she had been working on for the last decade. No one knew what these tools were or why she wanted to have them with her, but she insisted and had enough clout in the company to push it in her favor. She turned on a device that shot a green light in a focused cone at the wall. She turned on another, blue light crossed the green. She then placed a small block of alien material at the intersection and paused for a moment to take a breath and revel in her work. At last she squeezed a drop of catalyzing liquid on the cube. In a mere moment, the lights in the sky shut off. This was the greatest moment in all of history, it was also the last.
