Tjormans’ raft was made of sticks and leaves. Any material that touched the purple waves beneath him that wasn’t organic would melt in seconds. One of the beautiful harmonies of nature that kept his culture so invested in the planet’s welfare. Occasionally a wave would splash over his hull and break against his deep blue flesh, flashing with luminous bacteria. The water left a numb tingling sensation on his flesh. He was focused on other matters at the moment, though. Mainly those just an arms reach below him.

Doctor Strange #23 (Marvel)

Dennis Hopeless (W) Niko Henrichon (A)

This comic is still great. Don’t get me wrong, but it is definitely hindered by the whole tie-in thing. I feel like I can only really start judging this new team after the event is over, which is really fucking frustrating.

Green Arrow #27 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Jamal Campbell (A)

I really dig the idea of this crossover arc. It makes me want to see a new Green Arrow/Green Lantern series. Maybe that’s what its leading to. Judging by the solicitations, probably not, but still. A man can dream.

The Mighty Thor #21 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Russell Dauterman (A)

You thought one Thor was overpowered, try three on for size. Boogey down on that.

Ms. Marvel #20 (Marvel)

G. Willow Wilson (W) Marco Failla (A)

Family always comes first. That’s something that I really believe in. Now, I also believe that the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb, so I’m really at odds with myself, aren’t I? Anyway, Kamala saves her brother.

Invincible Iron Man #9 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Stefano Caselli (A)

Man, the solicitation for this one has a lot of vague phrases in it, so honestly I don’t know what to expect in this issue. I am ready though, I promise you that.

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-man #2 (Marvel)

Chip Zdarsky (W) Adam Kubert (A)

I loved the first issue of this series. I think it breathes a little bit of fresh air into a character whose series got a little stale for me after Superior. Check it out.

Secret Weapon #2 (Valiant)

Eric Heisserer (W) Jelena Kevic Djuedjevic (A)

The first issue was solid. I mean what did you expect from Valiant? Seriously, they are killing it right now, with even more goodness on the way.

Daredevil #24 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Goran Sudzuka (A)

Who doesn’t love a Kingpin/Daredevil story. They are always some of the best. I have scientific evidence to support this. Trust me.

Curse Words #6 (Image)

Charles Soule (W) Ryan Browne (A)

If you missed out on this comic, you need to go get the first trade ASAP. It actually comes out today, so there, I saved you a google search. Go to the shop and buy issue 6 and the first trade. You won’t be sorry. Alternatively, you could go to Amazon and order it right now, miss issue 6, and be 1/6 more sad than the first option. It’s your life.

Bitch Planet: Triple Feature #2 (Image)

Che Grayson/Danielle Henderson/Jordan Clark (W) Sharon De la Cruz/Ted Brandt/Ro Stein/ Naomi Franquiz (A)

The first issue of this was fucking fantastic. There are so many good stories to tell in this world and I’ll eat up any they produce for me. Thank you comic gods!

Jimmy’s Bastards #2 (Aftershock)

Garth Ennis (W) Russell Braun (A)

This is Ennis at his Ennis-est. Seriously, this is a hilarious comic, and buying it would be helping out a small press. So do me a solid and buy the fucking comic.

Generation Gone #1 (Image)

Ales Kot (W) Andre Araujo (A)

I have been waiting for another Kot book for so fucking long. He’s one of those creators that I think is making a huge impact on the industry. I am super excited he’s back.

Wild Storm #6 (DC)

Warren Ellis (W) Jon Davis-Hunt (A)

I love this series. Go fucking read it. Please. DO it. Thank you.

Descender #22 (Image)

Jeff Lemire (W) Dustin Nguyen (A)

New arc. Same spark! Was that a pun? Maybe you’d understand the reference if you read the comic like I told you to. I guess we’ll never know.

Batman #27 (DC)

Tom King (W) Davide Gianfelice (A)

This arc is making me fucking giddy. It’s so good, and framed so well on top of that. This may just be one of those classice Batman stories what them kids talk about.

Royal City #5 (Image)

Jeff Lemire (W) Jeff Lemire (A)

Do you like somber? Sad? Depressing? Me too! Join me as we live through the unfulfilled and endlessly daunting lives of some strangers from a small town. It’ll be fantastic.

Ghosts flashed under the surface of the waves. Tinted purple by the sea, he could see many faces glancing back at him as they sped to the horizon. It was nearly day, his ancestors needed to travel away from the Sun, lest the be eaten up by the light. Tjormans’ eldest mother once told him that over the eons, some souls would give into the Suns advances. They would become tired of the never ending journey and swim a little slower, being swallowed by the Star’s rays. Ultimately, they would become part of the light again, chasing their neighbors and friends playfully. Tjormans liked what his eldest mother had to say.
