My eyes follow the powerlines above. As a kid, I would always look up at them, in awe of the strange alchemy that occurs inside those wires. This image of electric eels squeezing through the pipes in the sky was what always went through my mind. As I got older, and the mystery revealed itself, I still couldn’t help but think of those eels. I was always one to hold onto the fantastic, long after everyone else had moved on.

Hawkeye #8 (Marvel)

Kelly Thompson (W) Leonardo Romero (A)

Man, Kate has some serious Daddy issues. You know, the normal kind, like when your father is a super-wealthy supervillain. But I mean, really? Who doesn’t have that problem?

Iron Fist #5 (Marvel)

Ed Brisson (W) Mike Perkins (A)

First arc is wrapping up. More knuckle cracking, blood spitting action in the last issue? I certainly fucking hope so. I mean they don’t call him Iron Heart. That’s a different character.

Green Arrow #26 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Otto Schmidt (A)

I hope that they aren’t pigeon holing themselves with the title of this arc. Hard Travelling Heroes is a pretty damn famous series. Don’t want to curse yourself.

Babyteeth #2 (Aftershock)

Donny Cates (W) Garry Brown (A)

The first issue of this comic was bananas. Seriously, it had so much going on but managed to tell you next to nothing about what was happening. I love it.

Avengers #9 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Phil Noto (A)

Oh, boy a tie in to an event I’m not reading. So far Marvel has been pretty good about the tie-ins for this series not taking you too far out of the world. It’s like a nice little one-off. I’m fine with this.

Black Bolt #3 (Marvel)

Saladin Ahmed (W) Christian Ward (A)

This series has been really fucking cool. I’m really impressed with the way that they’ve been dealing with telling a story about a dude who doesn’t talk. I mean, they basically just gave us a reason that he can talk temporarily, but I buy it.

Daredevil #23 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Alec Morgan (A)

Charles Soule gets to write She-Hulk again! This makes me very happy. I loved his run on that comic, and I love his run on this comic. Two great tastes that taste great together.

There’s Nothing There #3 (Black Mask)

Patrick Kindlon (W) Maria Llovet (A)

This series finally clicked with me on the last issue. Holy shit is this comic funny. I’m excited to see where they take this insanity.

Champions #10 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Humberto Ramos (A)

Another Tie-in. See above for my thoughts on this matter.

Jessica Jones #10 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Michael Gaydos (A)

I still don’t trust Maria Hill, I don’t give a fuck what reason they give us in this comic. I just can’t do it. She is the worst. Well, not the worst, but she’s pretty fucking bad.

Jupiter’s Legacy Vol. 2 #5 (of 5) (Image)

Mark Millar (W) Frank Quitely (A)

I have been waiting for this issue for a long, long, long, long time. Seriously, It’s been ten issues of Jupiter’s Circle and four more issues of Legacy since the epic finale of the first series. Gimme a solid damn ending Millar. You fuck.

Batman #26 (DC)

Tom King (W ) Mikel Janin (A)

The first issue of this arc has already sold me on the whole damn thing. It’s such a well told, well paced comic. I absolutely love this run on Batman. You need to be reading this, please.

The truck hit a bump and my body slid into the side of the truck bed. I tried fanning my legs out, wedging myself between the sides. It helped a little, but the bumps and turns were too unexpected to really get a solid hold. I assembled the pistol from memory, eyes still watching the heavens. I took one last breath of fresh, copper-free air, and turned to the driver. The window was open in the back, and my gun fit tightly to the back of his skull. In one motion, I leaned forward, grabbed the wheel with my right hand, and pulled the trigger with my left.
