He looked longingly out of the window. The world revolved without him, despite his ego. Against everyone’s impressions of him, this filled him with a comforting warmth. Eventually he will die, no matter his impact on the world at large, the world will hardly care. Not that he minded. It was better this way, in so many ways.

Captain America 4Captain America: Steve Rogers #4 (Marvel)

Nick Spencer (W) Javier Pina (A)

I don’t know how long I’ll be following this series. I dug the twist in the beginning, and I have liked the series so far, but I can see that novelty getting a little tired. We’ll see. I don’t want to ditch it, but tis the season for ditching.

Flash 5The Flash #5 (DC)

Joshua Williamson (W) Neil Googe (A)

Speaking of ditching. The last issue of this arc better be the best issue ever. Okay, maybe it’s not that bad, but it better be better than the last couple issues. I’m at the end of the first arc, this is a sink or swim moment for this comic.

Dept H 5Dept. H #5 (Dark Horse)

Matt Kindt (W) Matt Kindt (A)

So far, I have dug this series thoroughly. That being said, it’s not high up on the series just due to the tone and pacing. While I can’t say that it’s bad, as it fits the story entirely, I can say that it is a little taxing on my boredom.

Titans 2Titans #2 (DC)

Dan Abnett (W) Brett Booth (A)

Not super invested in this one, but the first issue and the one shot were both impressive, so I’ll stay on board for a while. This is probably the comic that has tied the most into the whole Rebirth thing, to my knowledge, so I think I’ll kick up my feet.

Detective Comics 939Detective Comics #939 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Eddy Barrows (A)

This series has been seriously awesome. I was expecting to pick it up for a little while and then drop off, but I’m staying for the long run now. Well, at least until a team comes along that I don’t enjoy.

Hellblazer 1Hellblazer #1 (Vertigo)

Simon Oliver (W) Moritat (A)

Excited to get into this comic. I absolutely loved the one-shot, and I think Oliver is an amazing choice for this character. Not to mention how pitch perfect Moritat’s art is for this series. I think this one is going to be a stand out.

Wonder Woman 5Wonder Woman #5 (DC)

Greg Rucka (W) Liam Sharp (A)

Speaking of stand out, this comic is my favorite thing to come out of Rebirth so far. I know I keep gushing about the concurrent arcs, but I am baffled by the tenacity that it took to push that choice through the bureaucracy of comicdom. Great choice.

Exodus 7Exodus: The Life After #7 (Oni Press)

Joshua Hale Fialkov (W) Gabo (A)

Okay, so I totally keep thinking this comic is coming to a close. I think I’ve said this at least three times now. I also feel like more and more people keep letting this one go unnoticed. Well, screw them. Read this comic.

Inhumans annual 1Uncanny Inhumans Annual #1 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Kevin Walker (A)

So the Inhuman’s go to India. That’s about all I know about this annual, that being said, I am still totally psyched. This series never fails to produce great stories. Even if it’s an overpriced annual

Renato Jones 4Renato Jones: The One Percent #4 (Image)

Kaare Andrews (W) Kaare Andrews (A)

I can totally see this film getting picked up by Robert Rodriguez and turned into a Machete-eske grindhouse masterpiece. It’s like Batman meets V for Vendetta. Bad-ayuss.

Archie 11Archie #11 (Archie Comics)

Mark Waid (W) Veronica Fish (A)

The battle of the bands sets Riverdale aflame. I love this series. As someone who really didn’t give a damn about Archie before this series, I definitely suggest everyone give this comic a shot.

Outcast 20Outcast #20 (Image)

Robert Kirkman (W) Paul Azaceta (A)

Something about the solicitation for this issue makes me think that something incredibly dark is on the horizon. Never mention someone’s child in a solicitation, it can only mean bad things. Mostly.

The light began to hurt his head. He turned into the room, allowing the darkness and blue tones to wash over him. The muscles in his neck relaxed. He glanced at the chains that bound him to the radiator. An idle tug filled the room with metallic clanks and soft thuds. Bracing himself against the footsteps coming from below, he curled in a ball behind the window.
