The wind had the first tastes of fall heavy on its breath. Rain fell like ice, obscuring the road. Memories of fall came back to me quickly, flooding my head with images of holidays, nights parading the street as a kid, the nervousness of season. The comfort of the isolation. This summer had been thick with pain, it would be nice to put it behind me. “Kiss Them For Me” by Siousxsie and the Banshees played quietly through the speakers. My driver stared contentedly at the road. I knew what she was thinking. The same as me.

Wonder Woman #29 (DC)

Shea Fontana (W) David Messina (A)

Man, I really don’t dig this arc. I mean I know it’s one arc, and I’m not dropping the book because of it, especially because a new team starts in two issues, but this just isn’t my thing. I don’t like this arc at all, it all feels so forced.

Justice League of America #13 (DC)

Steve Orlando (W) Ivan Reis (A)

Oh shit! It looks like there is a chance that maybe, possibly, we may, perhaps, have potentially found what could be theoretically a character we maybe have potentially been missing for what may have been a while. Maybe.

Infamous Iron man #11 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Alex Maleev (A)

Shit seems to be coming together finally after a strange interlude. I mean, come on, we all know what we want. Just give it to us.

Black Panther #17 (Marvel)

Ta-Nehisi Coates (W) Chris Sprouse (A)

This is one of my favorite love stories in comics and it’s really good to have them back at it. Hopefully it sticks this time.

Paklis #4 (Image)

Dustin Weaver (W/A)

This series fills me with happy. Seriously, Weaver is an incredible creator, we already knew that, but this series really show off his talent. Worth a read.

All Star Batman #13 (DC)

Scott Snyder (W) Rafael Albuquerque (A)

This is the penultimate issue of All Star Batman. I had no idea. At least he goes out with an amazing story that really highlights how fucking badass Alfred is. Alfred needs more appreciation. Alfred is the real hero.

Jimmy’s Bastards #3 (Aftershock)

Garth Ennis (W) Russell Braun (A)

This series is covered in Ennis. It’s filthy, it’s hysterical, it’s wrong in all the right ways. Get this book.

Thanos #10 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire (W) German Peralta (A)

What if Thanos were never the bad guy? Weird right?

There’s Nothing There #4 (Black Mask)

Patrick Kindlon (W) Maria Llovet (A)

This is such a good comic. It really needs your love. Well, not you specifically, but a group of people. You know, like a crowd or something.

Slasher #4 (Alt Comics)

Charles Forsman (W/A)

Talk about right in the wrong ways. This comic should have that as a subtitle. Fucking weird feels: The comic book.

Space Riders: Galaxy of Brutality #3 (Black Mask)

Fabian Rangel Jr. (W) Alexis Zirritt (A)

THIS BOOK IS FUCKING AMAZING. LOOK AT THAT FUCKING ART. IF THAT DOESN’T SELL YOU THEN LEAVE.

Deadly Class #30 (Image)

Rick Remender (W) Wesley Craig (A)

I love this cover so fucking much. That’s not necessarily the reason it’s so high on my list, but it definitely helps. If you aren’t reading this book, I am really disappointed in you.

Saga #46 (Image)

Brian K. Vaughan (W) Fiona Staples (A)

wow, Clay shocks us again with his pick for top book of the week. Incredible.

Together we rode past empty fields, struggling with the meaning we thrust upon them. We were fine driving in silence. The scenery and music were enough to occupy our minds. Both of us wait patiently for the next stop. I roll my window down and let the rain wash away the warmth, filling me with chills.
