His flesh turned from soft to silver and back again in an instant. Sometimes it helped to flex his mind muscles after a long while under disguise. A dull headache bloomed in the back of his mind, that’s what he gets for forgetting his workout. One day he’s going to get stuck looking like this boring thing.

Generations: Ms. Marvel #1 (Marvel)

G. Willow Wilson (W) Paolo Villanelli (A)

I love this character, but I don’t get the point of these generations tie ins. They have been decent from what I’ve read, but it seems like an aimless cash grab. Hopefully it ties together.

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #4 (Marvel)

Chip Zdarsky (W) Adam Kubert (A)

This series is entertaining, but I feel like there aren’t a ton of stakes in this first arc. Hopefully that changes, if not, it’s still fun to read.

Invincible Iron Man #11 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Stefano Caselli (A)

Okay, so they’re teasing that this is the prologue to one of the biggest Iron Man stories of modern history. That’s cool, but I think we all know what it is from the heavy foreshadowing. That being said, misdirection was still a thing last time I checked. I want to see evil Riri, so that’s my bid.

Avengers #11 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Mike Del Mundo (A)

Potential team change in this issue? Who knows? Probably a lot of people at Marvel, but not me, because I am not at Marvel. Anyway, I can only imagine that this has something to do with Sam Wilson. Just a guess.

Bitch Planet: Triple Feature #4 (Image)

Marc Deschamps/Sara Woolley/Vita Ayala (W) Mindy Lee/Sara Woolley/Rossi Gifford (A)

I still think that this story as a lot of cool stuff in it. Not only that but I support any comic that allows a wider audience to read lesser known comic creators’ works. That being said, I really do wish that an issue of Bitch Planet proper would come out.

Black Hammer #13 (Dark Horse)

Jeff Lemire (W) David Rubin (A)

They might be getting out of their God forsaken prison town. I am really interested in what Lemire will try to explore after they get free. If they get free.

Doctor Strange #25 (Marvel)

John Barber (W) Kevin Nowlan (A)

New writer arc. New artist. Extra sized issue. I’m very intrigued.

Green Arrow #31 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Otto Schmidt (A)

Probably my favorite arc on this series is coming to an end and its bringing the hurt from the look of the cover. Maybe after this they can move away from the looming evil that is the Ninth Circle and show some good ole villain of the week, bad guy punching.

Samurai Jack: Quantum Jack #1 (of 5) (IDW)

Fabian Rangel Jr. (W) Warwick J. Cadwell (A)

Come on! Who doesn’t fucking like Samurai Jack? Plus this is written by the dude who does Space Riders, ‘Nam Wolf, and Blood Brothers. Come on this team is fucking great.

Secret Weapons #4 (of 4) (Valiant)

Eric Heisserer (W) Raul Allen (A)

This series gives me a fuck ton of hope for the Valiant Cinematic Universe. If this dude is crafting the scripts for those movies, we definitely have something special on our hands. This series has been fucking awesome. Definitely pick it up if you can, or at least grab the trade.

Shirtless Bear-Fighter #4 (of 5) (Image)

Jody LeHeup/ Sebastian Girner (W) Nil Vendrell (A)

If you aren’t reading this series, you have missed out on an amazing comic. This is one of the best comedy comics I’ve read in years. Catch up!

Wildstorm #7 (DC)

Warren Ellis (W) Jon Davis-Hunt (A)

Things are starting to make sense in this comic and boy oh boy is it fucked. I really love this series. I should expect that from Ellis at this point. It’s quick witted, intelligent, and absolutely gorgeous. Please do yourself a favor and read this book.

Batman #31 (DC)

Tom King (W) Mikel Janin (A)

I love this arc so far. I see some people complaining online (like they do) about how it seems oddly paced and doesn’t focus on what they want it to. To those people I say, you miss the point. This is a story told by Batman. These are the things as he remembers it. It’s a story shaped by his fears and regrets. Get with the program.

Generation Gone #3 (Image)

Ales Kot (W) Andre Araujo (A)

I fucking love this series. I have been patiently waiting for Kot to come out with another series and fuck, did he put out something worth the wait. Pick up these books from your local LCS if you still can. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Descender #24 (Image)

Jeff Lemire (W) Dustin Nguyen (A)

Driller is back, baby! Man, I’ve never been so pumped for an interlude issue. Something weird is going on and I need to know about it, dammit!

The first few steps in the sun were always hard. Getting your reflective flesh to replicate the matte, dull tones of an Earthling were complex. It involved a lot of invasive mind warping. He lost his concentration and coughed and for a split second, was natural again. He checked his palm. It was blood.
