Y: The Last Man from Vertigo Comics and Brian K. Vaughn is most certainly one of the best comic book series that I’ve ever read. The story revolves around a man named Yorick Brown and his pet monkey as the last males on the planet. He travels the globe searching for his girlfriend and meeting a bunch of women along the way. I’m not really doing the story any justice, so just go ahead and read it yourself to get an idea of how the pilot that’s heading to FX could turn out.
The pilot will be going to the network, with the option to turn it into a full show. Co-showrunners Michael Green (American Gods, Logan) and Aida Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage, Turn) will executive produce alongside Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force (American Crime Story) and original writer Vaughan. Melina Matsoukas (Master of None) is set to direct the pilot as well as executive produce.
