When you think of the greatest action stars of all time there is no doubt that Bruce Willis comes to mind. Since his career launch in Die Hard, Willis has been beating up the bad guys (as well as being one) for a long time now. Well today Towelites I’m going to countdown his top five Geekly roles, so let’s get to it!
5.) Armageddon as Harry Stamper
When the world is about to end who else would you choose to save it? Seriously though, it was either this movie, Mercury Rising, or The Jackal. ‘Twas a hard choice.
4.) The Sixth Sense as Dr. Malcolm Crowe
The film that made M. Night and the one that ruined him. It was pretty difficult to have all of his other movies live up to this one. There is another one called Unbreakable (also starring Willis) that I like more than this film, but hey “I see dead people makes the cut seeing that Unbreakable came out in the 2000’s. Guess I should have waited to write this until the 2020’s.
3.) 12 Monkeys as James Cole
This is one messed up film and one of my favorite mind f*cks of all time. Brad Pitt playing a lunatic pre-Fight Club and Bruce Willis trying to save the future by fixing the past, or is it vice versa? Well whatever the case, it spawned a TV series.
2.) Die Hard(s) as John McClane
I really don’t have to say much about this series. The original film is one of the greatest action films of all time and the two following sequels are pretty awesome as well. There is only one film that kept this one off the top of my list, and that is…
1.) The Fifth Element as Korben Dallas
One of my favorite movies of all time. This Luc Besson sci-fi action/love story stands tall with its lavish sets and even Chris Tucker is pretty entertaining in this one. Willis’ Korben Dallas is basically John McClane in space and we are all ok with that. If you haven’t watch this film go and do yourself a YUUUUUUGGGGEEEE favor!
