In another round of horrible news to deliver, actor Gene Wilder passes away at the age of 83. It seems like 2016 can’t stop taking away some of the most talented people of all time and Wilder was most certainly one of them. Best known for his roles in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Young Frankenstein; the beloved actor passed way in his home this past Sunday.

Wilder was also a director and a novelist, but as in actor is what he was best known for. He had this to to say of acting:

“What do actors really want? To be great actors? Yes, but you can’t buy talent, so it’s best to leave the word ‘great’ out of it. I think to be believed, onstage or onscreen, is the one hope that all actors share.”

He will truly be missed, a living legend of cinema and the stage.
