Keanu Reeves recently sat down with GQ to talk about his new movie, 47 Ronin . Whilst chatting it up, he dropped some hints about the recently announced Bill and Ted movie we told you about last week. Reeves mentioned that Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan have “been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven’t done it.”

Their lack of production would have serious repercussions, he explained.

“So everybody is kind of like: ‘Where is the song?’ The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock.”

Major tragedy, and one that spurs another time traveling adventure.

“We go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future ‘us’ refuses to tell us, and another future ‘us’ blames us for their lives because we didn’t write the song, so they’re living this terrible life,” Reeves said. “In one version we’re in jail; in another we’re at some kind of highway motel and they hate us.”

Um, sure. Whatever Keanu. Sounds like Bogus Journey 2. I still want to see this movie though. So, bring on the Time-Travel and an acceptable ‘Rufus’ replacement. Scratch that, unless you can get the ghost of George Carlin, don’t even bother.

Bill and Teds 3: Time Travelling with Staylns (not a working title) has already locked director, Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) and writers, Ed Soloman and Chris Matheson. While funding is still an issue at this moment, it’s looking closer and closer to a reality. Meanwhile, below is a synopsis of 47 Ronin, expected to hit theaters February 8th, 2013.

47 Ronin synopsis:

The outcast Kai (Reeves) joins a group of Samurai, led by Kuranosuke Oishi (Sanada), who seek vengeance on Lord Kira (Asano), who killed their master and banished the group. The Samurai embark on a journey whose challenges would defeat most warriors.

Thanks to THR for the heads up!
