KNEEL BEFORE ZOD! Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire), who plays Kryptonian villain General Zod in the upcoming Superman movie ‘Man of Steel’, has a lot of praise for Henry Cavill’s performance as the Big Blue Boy Scout and has seen a good chuck of the unfinished film. Shannon offers up these two words: “MIND BLOWING”. Here’s a snippet of the interview:

“I’ve seen a little bit because I did some ADR for the film. It’s a very long process. Zack [Synder] puts a lot of time in post-production, like all his films because he’s such a visual stylist, and there’s a lot of computer-generated effects. But the little snippet I saw was pretty mind-blowing…and it wasn’t even finished. I always felt like I was in a scene with Superman. I never looked at [Henry Cavill] and thought that’s just somebody trying to be Superman — he felt like the real deal. I really admire Henry’s work ethic. I really haven’t seen anybody in this business work quite that hard. Obviously it’s a tremendous responsibility, and an intimidating one, to wear that suit. But he had the confidence and the work ethic to accomplish it.”

Here’s the Jor-El narrated Trailer:

As I’ve said before Superman is by no means my favorite superhero, but for some reason this may be my most anticipated comic book movie of 2013. I’ve been waiting a long time for WB to get it right. Have hope.

Man of Steel flies in to theaters on June 14th, 2013.

Stay tooned 😛
