I’ve long had a love affair with the Metal gear , and Ive long considered it to be one of my favorite game sagas of all time, despite all of its faults, which is why im so very excited about today’s news, cause i can write about not one, but two new Metal gear announcements!

First and Foremost, at the 25th anniversary event, hosted by Konami, the revealed a brand new title, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes , running on the brand new FOX Engine ! Very Few details were revealed, and all in attendance were asked to keep quiet, but this being the age of the internet and all, no one really did. Many of the Tweets coming out of the event have confirmed that this seems to be an open world Metal Gear game, and it does in fact star Solid Snake, as evidenced by the first official image released, courtesy of Famitsu!

Secondly, and maybe less exciting, is that the producer of the Spider Man films, Avi Arad will be Bringing Metal Gear to the big screen. This is not the first attempt as this Metal Gear movie has been in the works for many years, however nothing has ever come of it. Hopefully with a big name like that attached, the ball can get rolling, however, no further details have been announced at this time. All I’m asking for is regardless of whose playing Solid Snake, he has to be dubbed over by David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake from the franchise. Hayter is also a screenwriter having penned the original two X-Men films, along with the first draft of Zack Snyders Watchmen, which was met with praise from Alan Moore himself, so conceivably they have an actor and a writer whose already very familiar with the franchise!

In the mean time, don’t forget to keep checking back with us at DAFT as we learn more about these stories!
