I’ll be honest with you, I pretty much forgot this movie was still being made. First, Will Smith was attached, then he was a complete loser and decided to play it safe with Men In Black III. So, they replaced him with Josh Brolin. Then, Spike Lee took over the directing reigns from Steven Spielberg. Now, it seems it’s picking up a little steam and even went as far as adding our favorite patch-eyed director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Samuel L. Jackson to the cast.

Jackson’s role will be that of a e man who is being tortured by the hero (Brolin) in a key revenge scene. You’d think that’s the other way around, but they don’t call it ‘acting’ for nothing. Believe me, if you’ve ever seen the movie UNTHINKABLE, you will KNOW what a torture scene with Samuel L. is all about.

I’m more excited that this movie is shooting this fall and we can see more coming from it. If you haven’t seen the original film by Chan-Wook Park, I expect you too at least before the new movie is coming out to familiarize yourself with the material. It’s a good movie throughout, until the ending, when it becomes a GREAT film; and one that you won’t soon forget.

We’ll keep you posted on Oldboy news as it comes to us here, at DFAT.

Thank you LaTimes for the news.
