If you know anything about me, it’s that I absolutely love everything that Mark Millar does. I think that the man is a mad genius, and will follow his comics/movies until he decides to give up a pen. Luckily, that day isn’t’ here. His next film project, The Secret Service, is being adapted by Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass), with Vaughn directing.
Today, we have news that singer, Adele, is in talks to join as one of the baddies of the film. This is a rumor, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she made her acting debut in this film. So far the cast includes: Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Elton John, and David Beckham. No news on who will actually be playing the lead, but Millar hints that they have it between two actors now.
If Millar gets his way, he’ll be turning The Secret Service into a franchise, with a film coming out every 2 to 3 years. From what I’ve read of the comics, that would be just fine.
The Secret Service is due out to theaters in 2014. We’ll keep you posted as more news comes here to DFAT!
