Hello Towelites,

Another week has gone by, and another set of Blu-ray release has come forth.  This week is looking good with a few new films, along with a few new editions of old ones.

Starting off with the new, we have Brave from Disney/Pixar.  I haven’t seen this myself, but I’ve heard good things about it (and personally, I have come to trust Disney/Pixar in releasing good things).  The collectors edition includes Blu-ray, DVD and Bonus disc.

Speaking of Pixar, we also get Pixar: Short Films Collection 2.  If you’ve ever gone to see any Pixar movie, then you’re already familiar with the shorts they usually have before the main movie… and if you’re familiar with that, than you already know how amazing these shorts are.  This collection includes 12 shorts, amongst them being Presto (2008 Best short Animated Film), La Luna, and one of my favorites Night & Day.

Oliver Stone brings us Savages, starring Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, John Travolta and Benicio Del Toro (amongst others).

Last in the new comes The Watch, starring Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, and Vince Vaughn.  This is another one I haven’t seen yet.  Mixed reviews from the critics, and the trailer had me wondering; but I’ll definitely give this one a shot at some point and form my own opinion.

Continuing with some classics, we have the 50th Anniversary edition of Lawrence of Arabia (starring Peter O’Toole).  This set includes fully restored version of the film, soundtrack CD, Interviews it Peter O’Tolle and Martin Scorsese and a hard-bound Coffee table book with full-color pictures, history on making the film amd editorials from Scorsese and Spielberg.

Watchmen comes out with a Collectors Edition: Ultimate Cut + Graphic Novel.  I’ve been a fan of the movie and huge fan of graphic novel, so if I didn’t own both, this may have been the way to go.

Harry Potter FINALLY release 7, parts 1 and 2, in one Deathly Hallows set.  I loved the movies, and I still haven’t bought “Part 1” as I’ve been waiting for this double release.  BAM!

Other first time on Blu-ray releases include Empire of the Sun (Steven Spielberg, Christian Bale, John Malkovich), a movie collection of all 3 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and My Big Fat Greek Wedding (10th Anniversary Edition).

In TV land we get Friends: The Complete Series, and in the video game world we get Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Hope you all find something you were waiting for!
