Blumhouse had another amazing debut over the weekend with it’s premiere of Happy Death Day. The film cost an estimated $4 million and went on to take the top spot at the Box Office with $26.5 million! Yet again, we have a horror film destroying it’s competition. 2017 has not been a good year at the Box Office but it’s certainly been a fantastic year for horror films.

The other premieres of The Foreigner, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, and Marshall didn’t quite fare as well HDD with the Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan-led actioneer being the only one that made the Top Ten with it’s 3rd place premiere and $12.8 million. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. Happy Death Day $26.5 million

2. Blade Runner 2049 $15.1 million

3. The Foreigner $12.8 million

4. Stephen King’s IT $6.1 million

5. The Mountain Between Us $5.7 million

6. American Made $5.4 million

7. Kingsman: The Golden Circle $5.3 million

8. The LEGO Ninjago Movie $4.3 million

9. My Little Pony: The Movie $4 million

10. Victoria and Abdul $3.1 million

Next week, there will be even more competition as Boo! 2 Another Stupid Madea Movie and Geostorm get released. Will they be able to take HDD to the #2 spot? Find out in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
