So, why did I put that Rogue One and Hidden Figures are both #1? Well, the numbers won’t be completely in until later today and as it stands right now Rogue One is #1; but it doesn’t mean it’s going to stay that way when things shake out. The Star Wars Story was able to bring in another $21.9million, but Hidden Figures was right behind it on Sunday Night with $21.4million. The latter opened wide this weekend to critical and what looks like, financial praise.

The other debut of the weekend didn’t fare as well, and that was Underworld: Blood Wars. The fifth in the series of gothic vampire/lycan movies premiered in the fourth position, taking in only $13.1million. It seems that the “fans” have spoken and it’s finally time to drive a stake through this franchises’ heart. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1.Rogue One$21,972,000

2.Hidden Figures$21,800,000

3.Sing$19,573,670

4.Underworld: Blood Wars$13,100,000

5.La La Land$10,000,000

6.Passengers$8,800,000

7.Why Him?$6,500,000

8.Moana$6,413,000

9.Fences$4,700,000

Next week, there is going to be a ton of completion that’s sure to shake things up at the Box Office. We see premieres of Live By Night, The Bye Bye Man, Patriots Day, Monster Trucks, and Sleepless. All of them look pretty OK and will be sure to knock out some of the current contenders; but I can’t see any of them taking #1. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
