King T’Challa reigns supreme as Black Panther takes #1 at the Box Office for the 2nd weekend in a row. Not only that, but the film was the 2nd highest 2nd weekend ever, only trailing behind The Force Awakens. This is pretty amazing news as the film edges just past $700 million Worldwide.

As great of a news as this is for Marvel and Disney, it’s pretty bad news for the other debuts this week of Game Night and Annihilation. Both movies received good reviews, but not so great numbers at the Box Office. Game Night premiered in 3rd place with $16.6 million, while Annihilation took the 4th spot with $11 million. These numbers don’t paint the greatest picture when new contenders are going to be released every weekend going forward. You can check out the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. Black Panther $108 million

2. Game Night $16.6 million

3. Peter Rabbit $12.5 million

4. Annihilation $11 million

5. Fifty Shades Freed $6.9 million

6. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle $5.7 million

7. The 15:17 to Paris $3.6 million

8. The Greatest Showman $3.4 million

9. Every Day $3.1 million

10. Early Man $1.7 million

Next weekend, we have the releases of the Death Wish remake and Red Sparrow. Both films don’t exactly look remarkable in any way, but they may be good enough to take T’Challa down a peg. If I was a betting man, I’d put my money on Red Sparrow. Jennifer Lawrence still has some star power and the movie looks good enough to be #1. Find out if I’m right on the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
