Would would have thought that the latest film from M. Night Shyamalan, Split, would be taking the #1 spot at the Box Office for it’s third weekend in a row? The James McAvoy starring thriller has earned another $14.6million to add to it’s overall domestic earnings of $98.7million. The movie was estimated to cost less than $10million and makes it a certifiable hit for Universal and Blumhouse.

The 2nd place winner was the sequel that no one asked for, Rings. The movie cost $25million and has earned around $28.1million worldwide; so at least it’s made it’s money back. It’s doubtful that we shall see it stick around much more past this weekend, but it was enough to put it in 2nd place against the rest of the Top Ten seen below.

1. Split $14.6 million

2. Rings $13 million

3. A Dog’s Purpose $10.8 million

4. Hidden Figures  $10.1 million

5. La La Land  $7.5 million

6. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter $4.5 million

7. Sing $4.1 million

8. Lion $4 million

9. The Space Between Us $3.8 million

10. xXx: The Return of Xander Cage $3.7 million

Next weekend we see hugh Box Office premieres in the forms of: The LEGO Batman Movie, John Wick: Chapter Two, and Fifty Shades Darker. My money is on The Lego Batman Movie earning all the dough; but all three will certainly have a chance to dethrone Split. Find out who wins in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
