oz the great and powerful 6

I’m not so surprised in the money that Oz the Great and Powerful has earned so far. It came in at #1 in the Box Office this weekend again, bringing it’s total to over $245mil in just 10 days when you combine international and domestic revenue. No, what surprises me more, is that Halle Berry‘s, The Call, was #2 and that The Incredible Burt Wonderstone was only #3 this weakend.

The Call raked in about $17mil, which really impressive figuring it looks like any other generic thriller. Yet, it will most likely go own to make it worth it’s celluloid, unlike that of Wonderstone. The film’s Box Office revenue we about $10mil, even with Steve Carrell and Jim Carrey. There hasn’t really been much comedy this year, and I’m surprised more people didn’t go out to see it.

Next week, will be a little interesting. We have the Antoine Fuqua directed, Olympus Has Fallen, starring Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler. It’s an R-rated action film, coming out in a climate of fantasy. We’ll see if Oz can stand up to the challenge.
