I’m pretty shocked to be typing that The Boss Baby is the #1 movie at the Box Office this weekend. The animated featured opened to $49million and took out last week’s winner, Power Rangers, by almost triple the revenue. Not only was that a surprise but it was also pretty shocking to see Power Rangers drop down to 4th place so swiftly and taking more than a 60% drop off. It is already solidified as one of the biggest slides in Box Office history.

The other big upset came from the premiere of the live-action version of Ghost in the Shell. The film was critically torn apart due to a mediocre script and whitewashing the extremely Japanese-influenced film. The movie cost well over $100 million and only took in $19million. Yes, it could do better overseas; but it’s really not all that likely. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. The Boss Baby $49 million

2. Beauty and the Beast $47.5 million

3. Ghost in the Shell $19 million

4. Power Rangers $14.5 million

5. Kong: Skull Island $8.8 million

6. Logan $6.2 million

7. Get Out $5.8 million

8. Life $5.6 million

9. CHiPs $4.1 million

10. The Zookeeper’s Wife $3.3 million

Next week, is the premiere of Smurfs: Lost Village. Honestly, didn’t even realize they kept making these movies so I don’t know how it’s going to change the look of the Top Ten. I’m sure it’ll make more money than Ghost in the Shell. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
