Hugh Jackman decided to hang up his claws this weekend, and boy did he go out on a high note. Logan took in $85.3million this past weekend and easily solidified it in the #1 spot at the Box Office. The movie took the superhero genre and completely flipped it around as it was both critically and financially lauded. Fox took a gamble on an R-rated superhero last year with Deadpool and it paid off, now Logan is following in his footsteps. Maybe this is a sign of things to come.
Last week’s winner, Get Out, continued to perform well as it dipped to 2nd spot and still earned $26.1million. Universal has to be continuing to high five themselves as the movie only cost $5million to make and has almost took in $100million domestically. The rest of the Top Ten didn’t fare quite as well as the top two, but you can check out those numbers below.

Next weekend we see the release of Kong: Skull Island. I wasn’t too keen on another King Kong film after the last one let me down, but I finally saw the newest trailer in IMAX this past weekend and it kinda blew my mind. I’m not sure it’s going to beat Logan but we’ll find out in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
