In a surprise to absolutely no one who ever watches movies ever, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has another #1 Hit movie on his hands with Rampage. Audiences went out to see the video game adaptation in droves as the film debuted with $34.5 million domestically. It was able to take in $55 million over in China along, and it’s worldwide earnings were at $148.6 million. This was more than enough to knock off last week’s winner A Quiet Place, which still performed pretty fantastic by coming in 2nd with $32.6 million. Given that it’s budget was an 8th of Rampage; I’d say the win still goes to the John Krasinski-directed thriller.

The other debut last week was Blumhouses’ Truth or Dare. Given that the company only gives $4 million to produce a horror film and it earned $19.1 million; I’d say it’s yet another win for the company. Just keep pumping out these horror movies Blumhouse, and we’ll all keep seeing them. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. Rampage $34.5 million

2. A Quiet Place $32.6 million

3. Truth or Dare $19.1 million

4. Ready Player One $11.2 million

5. Blockers $10.3 million

6. Black Panther $5.3 million

7. Isle of Dogs $5 million

8. I Can Only Imagine $3.8 million

9. Tyler Perry’s Acrimony $3.7 million

10. Chappaquiddick $3 million

Next weekend we have the premieres of Super Troopers 2 and I Feel Pretty. Both movies look pretty lame in my opinion and will likely not do too much to disrupt the Box Office. I have a feeling most people are just waiting until Avengers Infinity War to really spend their money. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
