We knew it was coming, but it’s still sad to hear that Avengers: Infinity War has been dethroned by the Merc with a Mouth. Deadpool 2 debuted over the weekend and as everyone expected, it was #1 at the Box Office bringing in $125 million. That makes the film the 2nd highest R-rated opening of a movie, following the first Deadpool film which earned $132 million in it’s debut. Overseas the film had an even bigger splash by bringing in an additional $176 million and making it’s Worldwide total to $301.5 million. Maximum Effort!

Avengers took the 2nd spot with another $28.7 million and has brought it’s Worldwide total to $1.8 billion! It’s sitting at the 8th biggest movie of all-time and will likely move up a couple more spots before the end of it’s run. This weekend also had the debuts of Book Club and Show Dogs which took the 3rd and 6th spots with $12.5 million and $6 million respectively. The rest of the Top Ten are below

1. Deadpool 2 $125 million

2. Avengers: Infinity War $28.7 million

3. Book Club $12.5 million

4. Life of the Party $7.7 million

5. Breaking In $6.5 million

6. Show Dogs $6 million

7. Overboard $4.7 million

8. A Quiet Place $4 million

9. Rampage $1.5 million

10. I Feel Pretty $1.2 million

Next weekend should shake things up a bit with Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film has already had some mixed reviews, but then again it’s a Star Wars film which means it’ll likely debut in the #1 spot. I’m really interested to see just how much money it earns but as I’m a betting man, I’m going to say it’ll come in at $120 million. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
