Transformers is chugging right along with it’s 5th installment premiering over the last weekend. The films all get critically panned but make billions and billions of dollars; so the studio keeps putting them out. The latest movie, The Last Knight, had the lowest opening of any of the previous films; only earning $69 million since it’s Wednesday debut.

Though this doesn’t bode to well for the film continuing to have any legs here in the states, that doesn’t mean the movie isn’t going to make a ton of money. The Last Knight has grossed $196 million overseas with over $120 million coming from China alone. Overall, the weekend was pretty lackluster and you can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. Transformers: The Last Night – $45.3 million

2. Cars 3 – $25.2 million

3. Wonder Woman – $25.2 million

4. 47 Meters Down – $7.4 million

5. All Eyez on Me – $5.9 million

6. The Mummy – $5.8 million

7. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – $5.2 million

8. Rough Night – $4.7 million

9. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie – $4.3 million

10. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – $3 million

Next weekend is the premier of Despicable Me 3. Given that all of the previous films have made a ton of money, I have no doubt this one will knock Transformers 3 down a peg or three. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
