We knew that there would be a shakeup to the Top Ten with the premiere of War for the Planet of the Apes this past weekend. The Andy Serkis led flick was able to take down Spider-Man: Homecoming and take the top spot with $56.5 million. The film is being hailed as the best in the series and the best overall trilogy of films since Lord of the Rings. I guess this means that there was no surprise that it would debut at #1.

Spidey didn’t do too bad with it’s second place earnings, which were $45.2 million. This puts its overall domestic earnings at over $208 million. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. War for the Planet of the Apes $56.5 million

2. Spider-Man: Homecoming $45.2 million

3. Despicable Me 3 $18.9 million

4. Baby Driver $8.8 million

5. The Big Sick $7.6 million

6. Wonder Woman $6.9 million

7. Wish Upon $5.6 million

8. Cars 3 $3.2 million

9. Transformers: The Last Knight $2.8 million

10. The House $1.8 million

Next weekend, we have the premier of the newest Luc Besson film, Valerian and the City of 1000 Planets. The movie is already being met with mixed reviews, but then so was Lucy and it went on to make $463 million worldwide. I have a feeling it’s going to premiere in #2 over here and make all it’s money internationally. Find out if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
