The fourth entry in The Conjuring franchise opened this last weekend to #1, as Annabelle: Creation made $35 million in it’s premiere. With the film only costing $15 million, that’s a pretty great win for Warner Bros. It was also enough money to knock down last week’s winner, The Dark Tower, into the fourth position.

The other movie that premiered over the weekend was Brie Larson‘s newest drama, The Glass Castle. It opened up to significantly less theaters than Annabelle, but was able to make it to the 9th position with $4.9 million. The rest of the Top Ten are below.

1. Annabelle: Creation $35 million

2. Dunkirk $11.4 million

3. The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature $8.9 million

4. The Dark Tower $7.9 million

5. The Emoji Movie $6.6 million

6. Girls Trip $6.5 million

7. Spider-Man: Homecoming $6.1 million

8. Kidnap $5.2 million

9. The Glass Castle $4.9 million

10. Atomic Blonde $4.6 million

Next weekend, we have the debut of one of the stupidest looking movies I’ve seen in some time, The Hitman’s Bodyguard. I remember when Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington did the movie Safe House and it was pretty much the same thing as this movie but good. I can’t say this with 100% certainty as I haven’t watched Hitman’s Bodyguard, but I’m just gonna leave that out there. See if I’m right in the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
