We all knew there would come the time when Suicide Squad would get knocked down to the #2 position at the Box Office, and it’s finally come. The horror film by Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead remake), Don’t Breathe, premiered at #1 over the weekend and earned $26.1 million. That’s a pretty solid number, considering the film only cost $10 million to make.

The other premier was Mechanic: Resurrection; a sequel no one asked to be made and as a result the movie came in at the 5th position on the Top Ten with $7.5 million dollars. Jason Statham and Jessica Alba can’t quite command the Box Office like they used to. You can see the rest of the winners below.

1. Don’t Breathe $26.1 million

2. Suicide Squad $12.1 million

3. Kubo and the Two Strings $7.9 million

4. Sausage Party $7.7 million

5. Mechanic: Resurrection $7.5 million

6. Pete’s Dragon $7.3 million

7. War Dogs $7.3 million

8. Bad Moms $5.8 million

9. Jason Bourne $5.2 million

10. Ben-Hur $4.5 million

Next week, we’ll see the premiere of Morgan. The thriller looks pretty interesting and even though the trailers seem to reveal the entire film, it still looks good. Will it be enough to push Don’t Breathe down to the #2 position? Find out on the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
