In a surprise to absolutely no one at all, Stephen King’s IT has taken the #1 spot at the Box Office for the 2nd weekend in a row. It had hardly any competition and it’s amazing and word-of-mouth is only helping it spread more. Oh and it’s amazing. The film took in another $60 million, bringing it’s domestic pull to $218.7 million. All that on a $30 million dollar budget!? Who can compete?

The “competition” this week came in the form of American Assassin and mother! who took spots 2 and 3 respectively. They each earned less than half of what IT made combined and you can check out those numbers in the Top Ten below.

1. Stephen King’s IT $60 million

2. American Assassin $14.8 million

3. mother! $7.5 million

4. Home Again $5.3 million

5. The Hitman’s Bodyguard $3.6 million

6. Annabelle: Creation $2.6 million

7. Wind River $2.6 million

8. Leap! $2.1 million

9. Spider-Man: Homecoming $1.9 million

10. Dunkirk $1.3 million

Next week, things are gonna shake up big time. We have Kingsman: The Golden Circle and the Lego Ninjago Movie both being released. The first Kingsman did a good job in the theatre and the kids are begging for something animated. It will likely fall to spot #3, but we’ll find out if that’s true in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
