I have been a HUGE James Bond fan ever since I can remember. Back in the day, TBS had what they called the ‘12 Days of Bond‘ and I would sit there night after night, boring my sister and mother as I become immersed in a world of espionage, intrigue, and unbridled sexual magnetism. This was the world of 007. He traveled around the globe, fighting megalomaniacs as they tried to take over the world. A task that numerous Bonds have been doing for the past 50 years. When James Bond Jr came along in the 90’s, I rabidly watched that as well. So, at 31 yrs old, and a new Bond on the way, I’m more than excited that the series has been going strong for this long.

You’ll notice that the above picture doesn’t have George Lazenby or Timothy Dalton. It’s intentional. I have nothing against Lazenby, per say,  other than he isn’t much of a Bond. Dalton on the other hand is a waste of celluloid space. I have not watched his films in years, and I honestly doubt I will come back to them anytime soon. Maybe in an effort to torture myself, who knows? But, the ones above I covet as great visage’s to the 00’s. Sean Connery will forever be my favorite. He was suave, smart, and played the character with a believability that made the name Bond, James Bond a global icon. Pierce Brosnan had the best charm, with Roger Moore and Daniel Craig being the most action-packed of the series. Though, Moore did get off the deep end every once in a while. View to a Kill anyone?

Today, marks National Bond Day and I couldn’t be happier. I have my 007 wallet itching to get that bluray box set; (I’m waiting to see if I get it for my birthday this month though) But in the meantime, I can save my money and check out the Epix Channel tonight to check out the “Everything or Nothing” James Bond documentary. Here’s a trailer below thanks to MTV.

In addition to this amazing documentary, the multi-talented Adele has composed the theme to the upcoming Skyfall movie and I put the music below. I’ve only listened to it half a dozen times, and I love it. It keeps with the Bond-theme greats, like Tina Turner’s, Goldeneye, and Duran Duran’s View to a Kill. Enjoy the song below and remember to catch out Skyfall in theaters November 9th, 2012.

I only hope that 007 lives in for another 50 years and pays respect to creator, Ian Fleming, as well as it has been. There’s been some low points, but overall, it’s a franchise that I have loved, and will love, my entire life.
