Jon Favreau is the man we most all thank for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His work on Iron Man is what kick-started the whole thing and his influence is still being felt 10 years later. He’s gone on to work for Disney with The Jungle Book and the upcoming Lion King film; and now he’s making his way to a galaxy, far, far away.
Favreau will be producing and writing a new live-action Star Wars series for the upcoming direct-to-consumer platform. I couldn’t be more excited to find out where he’s going to take the show.
“I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform,” says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “Jon brings the perfect mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fluency in the Star Wars universe. This series will allow Jon the chance to work with a diverse group of writers and directors and give Lucasfilm the opportunity to build a robust talent base.”
