So, I guess there’s a Scream tv show that’s being developed at the moment. I’m not really sure if this is a bad idea or not. On one hand, the series did really good with Scream 4 and that should be them ending on a high note. One the other hand, I actually COULD see this as a show. You could have someone die at the beginning, and end of the series, all the while speculating which group of thirty-somethings playing teenagers did it.

MTV seems to think this is a good idea, because they’ve hired writers Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (Criminal Minds, The Event, Revenge) will be penning the upcoming series. No air date yet, but franchise creator Wes Craven had some words to say about it below.

Craven went on to say:

There is some talk about a television series, but I don’t think anything has moved forward on that yet. That’s what I’m hearing more than anything else from the guys at Dimension. It would be them picking up the phone and asking me if I wanted to play with them, so…
