under the dome

Stephen King has always been a busy man. From writing, to adapting movies and television series, to going on tours to colleges to give speeches; he’s always on the go. It seems that one of his newest projects is finally getting a cable release this summer. His novel, Under the Dome, will see a June 24th release date on CBS.

The show will star Colin Ford (We Bought a Zoo) as Chester Mill. According to Deadline “Ford will play Joe, a teenager living in Chester’s Mill, a very smart kid who’s understandably freaked out when he discovers that the mysterious barrier covers the whole town — and both his parents are outside of it.

In “Under The Dome”, “On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when — or if — it will go away.”

Under the Dome will air on CBS on June 24th and will be produced by Stephen King and Steven Spielberg.
