Towelites the TV season is in at full steam and we are headed into the final stretch before the end of the season! But what lies ahead for us in TV land? It’s time to find out in another TV SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT ONSLAUGHT!!
JJ Abrams Robot Cop Show
Michael Ealy (Underworld: Awakening, Californication) has landed the role of the robot cop in the new sci-fi buddy cop show by J.J. Abrams and Fox. Look for J.H. Wyman who worked with Abrams on Fringe to be producing this one, Fox can’t let their Abrams/Wyman combo go, what else are they going to live off of?
The untitled Warner Bros. TV/Bad Robot-produced project is described as an action-packed buddy cop show, set in the near future, when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids.
Robert Kirkman already has one success on his hands, and with his other series Thief of Thieves being optioned what else could be better? Oh I don’t know maybe a project he hasn’t even finished writing being optioned for the TV treatment! WOW.
The script centers on Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.
I like Kirkman, I like the Walking Dead, even though I think it’s a little over-rated. I would like to see what the status on Thief of Thieves is before the world goes Kirkman crazy!

Beverly Hills Cop, the TV show?!
What other properties can we copy and modernize?! How many more cop shows can we have on television?! Well at least this one will be more comedy centered. Paramount is opting a Beverly Hills Cop TV show, here’s the memo from Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO Brad Grey:
FROM: Brad Grey
TO: All Staff
I would like to share some exciting news about a new Paramount project.
We have entered into an agreement with Sony Pictures Television to co-finance and co-produce a one hour pilot of “Beverly Hills Cop” for the CBS Television Network. If the pilot is picked up, we will continue to work with Sony TV on the series. As you know, “Beverly Hills Cop” is a highly successful Paramount film franchise which stars Eddie Murphy and was launched in 1984.
This is the first television project to come from Paramount since the separation with CBS and will be a great opportunity for us to collaborate with our former colleagues. This pilot is also an example of being nimble and looking at our library with an eye toward capitalizing on an opportunity to make great content and create value by reviving a wonderful Paramount franchise.
Written by Shawn Ryan, the pilot will be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and will star Brandon T. Jackson, Sheila Vand, David Denman, Kevin Pollak and Christine Lahti. I’m very happy to say we expect Eddie Murphy to appear in a recurring guest star role as Axel Foley. The “Beverly Hills Cop” pilot will be a continuation of the film franchise and center on Foley’s son, who follows in his father’s footsteps and becomes a police officer in Beverly Hills.
Whether it’s this pilot for CBS, our “Burning Love” series on Yahoo!, or “Star Trek Into Darkness” on the big screen, Paramount will continue to be flexible, innovative and smartly opportunistic. The wealth of talent we have at Paramount and the great creative partners we are lucky to work with make projects like this one possible. I want to thank everyone involved and I look forward to what’s ahead.
Another actor has joined the modern day monster TV show based on all of our classics, Gothica. So far we have casted Van Helsing (Janet Montgomery), Dr. Frankenstein (Tom Ellis) and Dorian Gray (Chris Egan), two characters that make us believe that this is nothing more than an updated League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, or in the fashion of Once Upon a Time. Now Seth Gabel (Fringe, Arrow) is joining the mash as Roderick Usher, the district attorney and heir to the once-powerful Usher family who is carrying secrets. Who knows who he will actually end up being in the mythos of monsters but I am more than willing to give this one a shot!
Stay tooned 😛
