I hope you’re acclimating well to the New Year. There are many weeks and many new game releases to see and we’ll be making sure you remain aware of these.

The Banner Saga is a new role playing game based on Viking legends. The artistic aesthetic of the game sets it apart from other titles in this space. It also features some top-down views, which is familiar within the genre.

Yet another Assassin’s Creed title hits consoles this week in Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India. Set in the time period where the East India Company and Sikh empire were at blows over their differences, it features many fantastic locales to explore. I do greatly appreciate the historical basis for the series and the gameplay (like its predecessors) seems like it may be a bit easier for me to pick up than the flagship games.

Finally, That Dragon, Cancer, a project that follows young Joel Green’s fight against cancer comes out this week for PC. This title has been a long time coming and has gotten some positive buzz for tackling a tricky and emotional subject. Surely this is not a title that will likely leave you uplifted, but it does show creativity in using video games as a story-telling medium.

Of course these are not the only titles out this week. Is there something we missed or a game you’re excited to see? Let us know!
