It’s been up in the air but with the strong season ending ratings that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been able to bring in, ABC has renewed the show for a second season! I had little doubt that this would happen, seeing with as much money as the movies are making and the way the writing team was able to respond to changes, the show did a good job at saving face by the end of the season. With the whole HYDRA storyline, AOS quickly became one of my must watch TV shows of the week! So congrats to Agent Coulson and the scoobies, we’ll see you next year, but of course that’s after next weeks epic season finale!

Speaking of shows that were up in the air, it looks like we finally have solid news on the Agent Carter show that has been rumored at the network for months now. After the entertaining One-Shot starring Captain America’s Haley Atwell, it looks like we will get to see the roots of how SHIELD was built and hopefully more of Dominic Cooper’s Howard Stark. Here’s your official description thanks to Deadline:

[box_light]Agent Carter follows the story of Peggy Carter (Atwell). It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark, all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.[/box_light]

What do you think Towelites? Does the world need two shows based on S.H.I.E.L.D.? Will it be neat to see the Marvel Universe past and present? It is definitely a way to tell different stories, and it will be interesting to see the tie-in with Ant-Man partial taking place in the past. All I know is that the One-Shot was entertaining so I will definitely give Agent Carter a try! Look for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter this fall on ABC!
