Over the years there have been many incarnations of the classic Lewis Carroll tale, Alice in Wonderland. The two that stand out in my mind as the best interpretations, and my personal favorites, are the original 1951 Disney Classic and the 1985 TV mini series. The latter had a lot to do with the image of the Jabberwocky that was burned into my nightmares as a child. But now a new nightmare has come to light regarding this classic masterpiece that taught us that coming to age and responsibility is never that easy, McG. The Destroyer of Franchises (I.E. Terminator) is teaming up with Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club) who will write the script, and the CW to bring (down) this classic to television. Apparently the idea is to set the story in modern time LA and have Alice be a detective who discovers a secret world under the city, meh. The fantasy story genre has pretty much met its quota now that shows like Grimm (I love this show) and Once Upon a Time are in their sophomore years, while Beauty and the Beast is on its way this fall, AND a new series based on Sleepy Hollow is in development by McG’s Warner Bros based company as well!!! Does anyone have any original ideas anymore? Here’s an idea, get on the AWESOME interpretation brought to us by American McGee and make that a series/movie.

Stay tooned 😛
