American McGee is best known for showing us his twisted take on Alice in WonderlandThe original game came out for the PC in 2000 and I loved it. Then, there was a toy line and talks of a movie. Nothing really came from that, until last year when fans were rewarded for their patience with Alice: Madness Returns. The game was a lot of fun and gained more of an audience, expanding it’s range to include console systems.

Now, American McGee and Shanghai-based studio Spicy Horse, who put out Madness, are taking on another classic tale, Red Riding Hood. Their version is inspired by Japanese folklore and art and will be called Akaniero: Demon Hunter. Much like Diablo, it’s a role-playing action game. In fact, the fighting style and magic using looks pretty much like spot-on Diablo. I’m not saying this is a bad thing either.  Take a look at the video below and see what you think.

In Akaniero, players manage a team of demon hunters in the new free-to-play multiplayer PC game. You can sign up for the closed beta HERE. The game features 8 different areas and over 24 missions.

Thanks to GameZone for the heads up!
