Akira is one of those long-celebrated but does anyone really understand wtf is going on films that we’ve all loved our entire lives. You know, like Blade Runner. It’s weird, kinda boring, but looks beautiful and the soundtrack is great. Awaken Akira is a tribute to the revered anime that many of us have watched and very few of us have comprehended.
Awaken Akira was created by two friends, Ash Thorp and Zaoeyo (XiaoLin Zeng), who wanted to collaborate on a tribute to the iconic anime, Akira, by Katsuhiro Otomo. It’s creation took over a year, as they had to coordinate our time on it with other project commitments
