I have to let you all in on a little secret. I’m WILDLY afraid of dolls. I couldn’t watch Chucky movies until I was 17. Now we’re fast friends, but I really had to push myself to watch them. I’ve always been afraid of marionettes and porcelain dolls. Watching The Conjuring‘s scenes with Annabelle scared me out of my mind.
So, when I heard that they were going to do a spinoff, I was terrified. Reading about the actual story behind the doll only made it worse, and now seeing this trailer is all-out banana sandwich. Check it out, and prepare to not sleep at night.
Annabelle is being released on October 3rd, and will be directed by The Conjuring’s DP, John. R. Leonetti. James Wan and Peter Safran will serve as producers on a script written by Gary Dauberman. The film will star: Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodward.
