On a sad note this weekend, one of the best cartoons EVER, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! will be ending its two season run tomorrow, Sunday, at 11:30am EST on Disney XD! If you haven’t watched the show you can start catching up on Netflix, as they have the entire first season on Instant Queue. EMH will be replaced by Avengers Assemble, a new cartoon based more on the cinematic Marvel Universe. What I liked about EMH was its weekly faithful telling of classic Avenger’s tales, some with a new modern twist. The character stable was top-notch and I only wish we could have gone even more galactic with it (i.e) Thanos and the Infinity Gems storyline! But we did get Rocket Raccoon! Here’s a video courtesy of Marvel and the  creators of EMH thanking all of us fans out there for the support and love! Not to forget one of the greatest theme songs of all time!!

The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (also known as The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!) is an American animated television series by Marvel Animation in cooperation with Film Roman based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. The show debuted on Disney XD in Fall 2010 starting with a 20 part micro-series.

Marvel Entertainment, LLC and Disney XD announced that a “new Marvel Universe” programming block named Marvel Universe which includes Season 2 of Avengers and the animated Ultimate Spider-Man series that began broadcasting in April 2012.

The series initially features a team based on the roster for the original Avengers, comprised of Iron Man (Anthony “Tony” Stark), Ant-Man/Giant-Man (Henry “Hank” Pym), the Hulk (Robert “Bruce” Banner), Thor (Thor Odinson), and the Wasp (Janet Van Dyne). The team is later joined by Captain America (Steven “Steve” Rogers), the Black Panther (T’Challa), and Hawkeye (Clinton “Clint” Barton) in the first season, while in the second season, Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) and the Vision join the roster, with Spider-Man (Peter Benjamin Parker) named to reserve member status. In terms of overall tone and style, the series is based principally on the original stories by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. However, it also tends to utilize material from all eras of the comic’s run as well as other sources, such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series is going to be replaced and continued by Avengers Assemble in 2013.

I will miss you EMH! I hope that Avengers Assemble can hold a candle to the geekly entertainment you brought me week after week!

Stay tooned 😛
