Towelites! Always nice to have the chance to write a comics article once in awhile. Actually it’s quite appropriate seeing that we are approaching Year 6 and some exciting changes for the site are coming. So open your eyeholes, snag you wallet and get down to your local comic shop to pick up your pulls for the week! Here’s mine!

Featured Book of the Week

Harbinger Renegade #5 – Valiant

The hype leading up to this comic’s release has been pretty extreme. I had the opportunity to read it the other day and let me tell you, the payoff is worth it. I love Valiant, I love what they have to offer the reader and I would happily give up all other books to exclusively follow this publisher. Who dies? Well you gotta find out for yourself!

Bug: The Adventures of Forager #3 (of 6) – DC Comics

At least one publisher is recognizing the life of Jack Kirby. This year marks what would have been the 100th birthday for the King. I am really looking forward to the panels at SDCC, not that I can be there, BUT still looking forward nonetheless. This week in the wild trippy Fourth World, Bug teams up with Atlas and time & space will never be the same!

American Gods Shadows #5  – Dark Horse

One of the best things about reading this comic is trying to stay ahead of it in the book. It is nice to be able to put some images into my brain of the events of the story especially seeing where we are this month in the comic.  Now if I could just figure out where the show ends because I really want to watch it without having to read the entire novel. Can anyone help?

Dark Days: The Casting #1 – DC Comics

I was MORE than pleasantly surprised how much the first issue of Dark Days sucked me into this new event. Even when you try to say NO the urge is too much to deny, especially with Scott Snyder leading the way. What’s going to happen now that the Joker has popped up again, will chaos ensue for our heroes? You’re damn straight it will!

Defenders #3 – Marvel

Yeah so this series has ended up being BETTER than I thought it would be. As I try to keep up on events happening on the street-side of Marvel I find that I can’t deny an amazing team-up book like this one. NOT to mention that they fight The Punisher this issue. Nuff said.

Darth Vader #3 – Marvel

The time period in Star Wars that really needs a Vader standalone movie gets its own comic series, and if that’s not enough to sell you on it, it’s written by Charles Soule. Hunt down those Jedi. Please?

Titans #13 – DC Comics

It’s a little bit funny that every month I try to cut this title from my pull, comics are expensive! Yet this gem of a book finds its way into my stack and into my home. It’s like an invasive species….

Black Cloud #4 – Image

Because your pull should have at least one Image comic book in it every week right? RIGHT?! It’s what I tell myself at least. I kid, this is a pretty good read.

Wonder Woman #26 – DC Comics

New creative team, new direction? Heck I’ve invested in the last 25 issues gotta give this one a shot right? I will miss Rucka and what he accomplished. From what I’ve seen so far I don’t believe that the upcoming issues will follow the two time period method. Can anyone enlighten me?

Well that’s it for me this week, I’ve gotta head over to my shop and pick up these books. Clay will be back next week, or maybe later this week, so don’t fret. Enjoy the books Towelties!
