Wonder Woman Earth 1?

Even though Grant Morrison has departed from two of his DC titles, it doesn’t mean that he’s done playing around in the DC Comic’s “sandbox”. After the success of JMSSuperman Earth 1 and Geoff JohnsBatman Earth 2, perhaps we will see the graphic novel for our final member of the Trinity.

Golden_Age_Wonder_Woman“Wonder Woman is more… unified, I think. The original idea of Wonder Woman was pretty sound. And I think the other great idea of Wonder Woman was her TV show with Lynda Carter. So I’m going to try to do something that’s got all of that. As I told you, I’ve been working my way through the entire history of feminism, and I’m doing my research, and I’m talking to everyone, and my wife is leaning over my shoulder. So I really want to make it a particularly good book.”

“It’s different from Superman and Batman, because I think Wonder Woman… there have been different Wonder Womans — you know, the mod, 1960s, Wonder Woman. But we’re trying to unify everything into a… I don’t know if I can answer this one, Vaneta. I think this is more like All-Star Superman than how I did Batman, you know? Because I actually took a really different approach to Wonder Woman than I did with Batman, where I was combining all the ages into one man’s life. And I worked it out on a 15-year timescale… when he was 25 and met Talia, and on from there. And I had all that worked out.”

“But with Wonder Woman, I kind of read a bunch of stories and then ignored them all. This is like a completely new version of Wonder Woman.”

Diggle off Action Comics?!

action comics 19 coverThe departure of Andy Diggle from Action Comics is in fact true.

It was the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make, especially with Superman’s 75th anniversary and Man of Steel on the horizon.

Looks like we may get the issues Diggle had the chance to write, but after those, Tony S. Daniel who was working on art for the series, will take over on writing duties. There is no word if Daniel’s, who had dual experience when he took on Detective Comics, would continue to do both.  It’s too bad because I was really looking forward to this series.

WTF month heats up as another writer quits his titles?!?!

After the HUGE turnover over in the Green Lantern universe, the recently announced writer of both Green Lantern Corps and Red Lanterns, Joshua Hale Fialkov, Check out the latest from him over at his website!

The Story…

Posted on  by

Hey guys,

175979068_6551e389ebJust a quick note to confirm what everyone knows, I am no longer the writer of GLC and Red Lanterns for DC Comics. There were editorial decisions about the direction of the book that conflicted with the story I was hired to tell, and I felt that it was better to let DC tell their story the way they want. I’m grateful for the opportunity and I’ll miss working with the entire Green Lantern team.

This was not an easy decision to make emotionally or financially, but, I’m sure it was the right decision for both me, and for the Green Lantern books. The outpouring of support, your kind words and well wishes means so much to me and my family.

In the meantime, I’ll be writing ALPHA: BIG TIME and THE ULTIMATES over at Marvel, and THE DEVILLERS at Dynamite. I’ve got a couple more projects in the works, so stay tuned.

Thanks again,
j.

WOW!! What a shake-up! So now the creative teams will be: Van Jensen (Pinocchio Vampire Slayer) will take on Green Lantern Corps, with Robert Venditti co-writing. while Charles Soule, who just recently picked up Swampthing, will take over Red Lanterns!
