The line wrapped around the building. Teri rolled her windows down, submitting to the boiling heat of the day. Only slightly better than the humid environment of her Honda. She cursed her broken AC and prayed for a breeze. The breeze never came, it would never come. She tried to remember what she was waiting for.

Murder Falcon #1 (Image)

Daniel Warren Johnson (W/A)

Metal. Kung Fu. Massive acts of heroics. This sounds like my kinda book. I haven’t read Extremity yet, but I hear great things and I love Johnson’s art. I’m excited for this book.

Wonder Woman #56 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Ray McCarthy (A)

I am pumped for this little arc, but it still gets the infamous top spot because of the fact that it’s a crossover that is making my buy more issues. Damn them and their schemes for more money. Damn them to hell.

Exiles #9 (Marvel)

Saladin Ahmed (W) Javier Rodriguez (A)

This series has picked up. I was on the fence about it for a while, but my mind has been changed. For now at least. There is a massive amount of potential oozing from this book. I feel like if I were a different person, this would be my jam, it just isn’t hitting the mark for me personally.

Detective Comics #990 (DC)

James Robinson (W) Stephen Segovia (A)

Can I just say. I really hope this isn’t just another Two-Face mystery. I hope it switches up and is more than it seems. I’m all for sticking to the classics, but that story has been told a dozen times. Funk it up for me.

Moth & Whisper #2 (Aftershock)

Ted Anderson (W) Jen Hickman (A)

The first issue of this book was incredible. I’m really looking forward to this series as a whole. I’m always down for finding new talent for follow. You should check this book out while you have a still have the ability to.

Catwoman #4 (DC)

Joëlle Jones (W/A)

There is something about Catwoman in another country rings true for me. It just feels right. I know a lot of people are mad about why, but still. Makes sense. I have a feeling that this series might not last that long. I think it has a purposeful ending coming soon.

Avengers #9 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) David Marquez (A)

The last issue of this book made the seven issues before it worth it. I’ve been iffy about this book since the first issue. I feel like it has finally hit it’s stride. I love the dynamic they introduce in the last issue, I love it all. Also, my favorite wet-boi is back.

Farmhand #4 (Image)

Rob Guillory (W/A)

Still a weird fucking book. Enjoyable but strange and I’m not sure. I’m just not sure.

The Quantum Age #3 (Dark Horse)

Jeff Lemire (W) Wilfredo Torres (A)

Not my favorite of the spin offs. At least so far it isn’t, but that could all change. Who knows? I don’t. I don’t know a fucking thing. I’m a human potato.

The Weatherman #5 (Image)

Jody Leheup (W) Nathan Fox (A)

With the first arc wrapping up, now you have the chance to catch up once the trade comes out. This is a solid book with a crazy, unique voice. It’s a dark story with more humor than you could shake a stick at. Check this book out please.

Ms. Marvel #35 (Marvel)

G. Willow Wilson (W) Nico Leon (A)

I have absolutely loved this arc. It has been everything that I love about this book. It is fun, funny, heartfelt, and a true representation of the turmoil and general dread of being a teenager. Everything that I loved about Spider-man growing up, with a more modern filter.

Venom #7 (Marvel)

Donny Cates (W) Ryan Stegman (A)

I’m curious to see where this story goes now that the big bad villain is gone. Things are vastly different now, and I am pumped to see this team tackle it.

Plastic Man #5 (of 6) (DC)

Gail Simone (W) Adriana Melo (A)

Dammit this book is good. It’s great. It’s even spectacular. If you aren’t following this book you are making a fantastic mistake. Correct it. I don’t care how. Maybe time travel. Now fuck off and fix it.

Captain America #4 (Marvel)

Ta-Nehisi Coates (W) Leinil Francis Yu (A)

This book has all the gravitas and intelligence that I think a Captain America book needs. Before this I was of a different mindset, I think. Now that I’ve had a nice taste of the new status quo, I don’t think I can go back….until I have to. Actually, I’ll probably be fine, honestly.

Oblivion Song #8 (Image)

Robert Kirkman (W) Lorenzo De Felici (A)

I love the art in this book. De Felici does a phenomenal job capturing the otherworldly textures and creatures in the zone. It’s at least 80% of why this book works so well, and that’s saying a lot, because I’ve been very vocal about the quality of the story.

Survival Fetish #4 (of 5) (Black Mask)

Patrick Kindlon (W) Antonio Fuso (A)

I love this book so much. This is a prime reason to read smaller publishers. You can find creators, and teams you had previously never heard of and follow them through their early careers. I can imagine both of these fellows working for a major publisher soon. They are beyond ready, if that’s what they want.

The Wrong Earth #2 (Ahoy! Comics)

Tom Peyer (W) Jamal Igle (A)

I was expecting the first issue of this book to be fun but follow the tropes of a book like this. It did not. It took a turn I was not expecting and because of that I am more than thrilled to see this series to continue to mature.

The Immortal Hulk #7 (Marvel)

Al Ewing (W) Joe Bennett (A)

I love the lore that this book is building. It’s taking some of the stuff from the television show and the original Hulk comics and really blowing it up and breathing new life into Hulk universe. I love it.

The Amazing Spider-Man #7 (Marvel)

Nick Spencer (W) Humberto Ramos (A)

SPIDER-MAN IS A MENACE!

She Could Fly #4 (of 4) (Berger Books)

Christopher Cantwell (W) Martin Morazzo (A)

This book has been so fucking good. I am thrilled to see this final issue. It was a wild ride, a brilliant insight into mental health and a very vulnerable story. Please read this book. For me. For you. Mostly for me.

Teri became more and more confused. The line didn’t seem to be moving and she still couldn’t remember what it was she and the line of cars ahead of her were waiting for. Part of her, some part that seemed inescapable, tried to tell herself it was the heat that was playing tricks on her. She tried to remember when she had pulled into the line in the first place. The concept seemed abstract.
