Crashing into the ocean, the heat from the shuttle dissipated in a puff of steam. Loud creaks and moans shouted at him as the metal cooled. The door blasted off as if pulled from heaven itself. Out stepped a creature the likes of which had never been seen. Jeers and screams bellowed from the crowd gathered on the beach in front of the alien. Gathered were millions upon millions of men, women, and children, waiting to see the jewel encrusted angel. He took one brief moment to glance at the hole in the sky through which he arrived, and would one day return, before stepping onto the stage ahead.

Batman & Robin Eternal #15 (DC)

Collin Kelly/Jackson Lanzing (W) Christian Duce Fernandez (A)

Damn this book keeps finding ways to wow me. They are messing around with Batman lore in a way that not only tarnishes Bruce, but makes everything we know about his supporting cast change. Ballsy, I like it.

Red Wolf #2 (Marvel)

Nathan Edmondson (W) Dalibor Talajic (A)

That first issue was pretty intense, but already things are different. How are they different, you ask? Well maybe you should read the Goddamn comic, Paul!

THOR2015003-DC11-LR-a2df6

The Mighty Thor #3 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Russell Dauterman (A)

Who doesn’t like a little Loki. Not little like tiny, but I mean just a small amount of… you know what? I think you know what I meant. Stop being so difficult.

Constantine: The Hellblazer #8 (DC)

Ming Doyle (W) Riley Rossmo (A)

Everyone is allowed to have someone to love. I mean basically everyone. It seems all Constantine has is his love of love, and love is not loving. In all seriousness, who told him he could bring people into his life. They all die anyway.

hawkeye 3

All-New Hawkeye #3 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire (W) Ramon K. Perez (A)

Usher in a new wave of Old Man heroes, or Woman in some cases I guess. Seriously, I really think that they could have a whole universe of old superheroes and it would be awesome. What? DC already did that? It was awesome? It was called Kingdom Come? Yeah, well still.

OOOH. A jumping on point! Okay, not really, but it is a new arc. If you aren’t reading this, you know the deal. Obviously, you should just read everything I tell you to. Your wallet is under my control.

all different avengers 3

All-New All-Different Avengers #3 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Adam Kubert (A)

I absolutely love the construct of this comic. They young’uns get learned by the masters. I think it’s a really clever way to introduce a younger generation to the Avengers while still being true to the long time fans. Good on you, Marvel.

Mark Millar (W) Rafael Albuquerque (A)

This comic is damned adorable. So far not a maligned piece in the whole comic, which is refreshing. That’s not to say it won’t happen, but it’s nice to have a Lawful Good in the lead for a change.

Descender_09-1

Descender #9 (Image)

Jeff Lemire (W) Dustin Nguyen (A)

This comic can make you feels hard. Like “wanting to sob in only an issue flat” kind of feels. The last issue built an amazing relationship between Tim-21 and his best buddy. An incredible series just keeps getting better.

secret wars 9

Secret Wars #9 of 9 (Marvel)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Esad Ribic (A)

This is like spotting an Albino Nessie. Finally the last issue of Secret Wars is here. I almost can’t believe it. I mean holy crap, that took forever. Either way, I am super duper pumped to see how this all plays out. I mean, everything works out right?

Leave me alone. Everything is Hunky Dory, okay? Nothing is wrong with me. I’ll be fine, go be with your loved ones.
