With Fraga’s independent creation Black Flag returning soon after a 25-year absence and Fraga himself out of the comics industry for years, fans cannot be more excited for the return of one of the hottest artists of the 1990s! As a lead up to that kickoff, the characters of Black Flag are debuting for the first time in decades on this exclusive variant cover joined by either Red Sonja or Evil Ernie.
Each version is available with logo, without as a “virgin” variant, or without color as the “pure line art” version to fully appreciate Fraga’s unparalleled skills and detail! Bundled and signed options are also available for collectors who don’t want to miss out on anything!
Under the mindblowing cover is Red Sonja: Age of Chaos #1. Written by Erik Burnham (Ghostbusters, Chastity) and drawn by Jonathan Lau (Green Hornet), it’s a perfect fit with its ethos of big action and horror. Lau said, “My mission has always been to bring big action back into comics, which is sorely lacking in the ‘dialogue-heavy’ style of comics nowadays.”

More About Dan Fraga & Black Flag
Dan Fraga aka FRAGABOOM is originally from California and immediately out of high school was hired to be a part of Rob Liefeld’s Extreme Studios within Image Comics in their early heyday. Alongside other young talent brought into the business through Extreme and the explosion of Image like Marat Mychaels, Norm Rapmund, Danny Miki, Chap Yaep and current Image publisher Eric Stephenson, Fraga became an overnight superstar and one of the hottest talents in the industry.
After making his main stage debut in Youngblood #0, Fraga went on to launch Bloodstrike as its principal artist. His detail-oriented, kinetic artwork stuck with readers at the time who found inspiration in the age, attitude and ethics of the independent comics of the time. Some of those readers went on to become acclaimed creators in their own right, such as Ed Piskor (X-Men: Grand Design, Hip Hop Family Tree) and Jim Rugg (Street Angel, The PLAIN Janes), who have discussed Fraga on their Cartoonist Kayfabe Youtube channel. And Michel Fiffe (Copra, GI Joe), who recently wrote and drew a series that expanded on the original Bloodstrike storylines.
Leaving Bloodstrike to create his own idea in the Image tradition, Black Flag was born. In a 1993 TV interview, Dan describes the title as the “perfect comic” with every element one could want in one book. Including monsters, guns, big giant gorillas, armored women, motorcycles and more.
Through the 1990s and early 2000s, Fraga continued to work on titles such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Black Panther, Cable, Witchblade, and his creation The Gear Station. Leaving the industry around that time, he started working in film and animation, directing episodes of The Ricky Gervais Show and doing storyboards for Doom Patrol.
